Q: I've paid, how do I get to, and start, my class?
A: Click HERE to sign in and begin your class.

Q: How does the court (person who referred me) know I completed the class?
A: You are automatically authorized to generate a certificate as soon as you complete the full course. At registration, if you enter the email address of the person who referred you, that person will automatically be notified of your registration and completion status. We will, at your request, notify the referring person (or your attorney) of your completion status.

Q: Will I get a certificate of completion?
A: Upon successful completion of the course, a completion certificate is unlocked and immediately available to you. Also, and upon request we can mail, fax or email a Completion Certificate to the Court.

Q: I use Google Chrome, will it work for this class?
A: We certainly have had people complete the class using Google Chrome but we have had more problems with Chrome than any other browser. Internet Explorer works best, FireFox works okay.

Q: What happens after I complete the class?
A: Upon your successful completion, you will receive a email from your assigned counselor indicating that you have successfully completed the course. If you provided an email address of the person who referred you, your counselor will then email the person who referred you to Offender Solutions® a notice of your successful completion. Please NOTE we do not email completion letters to clients.

Q: How much does it cost?
A: Our 4 hr online class costs $50.00; our 8 hr online theft class costs $65, our correspondence class using an actual workbook costs $75. You can take one class OR the other - you do not need to sign up for both.

Q: How long do I have to start and finish the class?
A: Usually the person who refers you to Offender Solutions® decides your timeline. We don't impose a timeline on you. We will, however, close your case if there is a period of inactivity.

Q:: How many chapters are there?
A:
There are a total of 6 to 8 chapters and a final test to complete. Each Chapter has a set of questions in which you will answer before going on to the next.

Q:Where can I buy the book?
A:
The curriculum the Offender Solutions® course is built around are taken from the book "The Psychology of Stealing" written by Steven M. Houseworth, MA it is available to buy at www.winter-house.com.

Q: What if I don't have email?
A: The course is available in two formats: The CORRESPONDENCE COURSE is done through the mail and no email or internet connection is required. You will be mailed a workbook and you will then reply to the questions at the end of each chapter through postal mail. Just go to "Sign Up" and you will be directed to the correspondence course.

Q: I only have 3 days to get this done, can I finish it that quickly?
A: Yes, however you will still be required to complete all the readings and answer each set of questions at the end of each chapter followed by a final test. It is more up to you and your willingness to commit. You must still meet our standards when it comes to acceptable test answers.

Q:. Does this program meet my courts requirement to complete a theft class?
A: Likely yes. To date only two courts have declined the use of our online program. However you do need to double check with the person who referred you in order to be sure.

Q: What if I have not ever stolen but I have been told I have to take this class.
A: Regardless of your situation, all of the information within this course should apply directly to your situation or life in general.

Q: I am not going to be able to complete my class by the deadline that I was given by my PO. What do I do?
A: We would encourage you to: 1. Do everything in your power to attempt to complete on time. 2. Contact your referring person (PO, Judge, Attorney, Etc.) and ask for an extension. In any case, communicating with everyone involved is very important.

Q: I have a yellow trianglepreventing me from starting my chapter. What can I do?
A: If you ever get a yellow triangle icon preventing you from opening a chapter, here is what you can do:

•  Double click on the yellow triangle

•  Wait for the pop up window to open

•  Close the pop up window

Go up to "View" on your toolbar and select "Refresh"
(or hit your F5 key to refresh)

Q: My class is stuck, it starts to open (or close) but isn't opening, the message just says "Wait! Do not close window" What am I suppose to do?
A: If you haven't tuned your computer up recently you could get "stuck" opening a chapter or closing a chapter. The problem is typically easily resolved by cleaning out your "cookies" and or "Temporary Internet Files".

To clean these files out (assuming you are in Internet Explorer) go to the top of Internet Explorer and:

  • Select " Tools " on your toolbar.
  • Then, in the dropdown select " Internet Options " at the bottom of the pop up window.
  • Under the "General" Tab, click the word " Delete located in the middle of the window.
  • A new window should have popped up. Put a checkbox by "Temporary Internet Files", "Cookies" and "History". Unless you know what you are doing I suggest you uncheck the other options.
  • At the bottom of this window click " Delete " and wait for the files to be deleted.
  • Click "OK" to close the window.
  • Close Internet Explorer and re-open it.

Your class should work fine now.
